This grassroots tour is conducted by spice farmer Murtala. It is especially suited for customers who are seeking a low-key, authentic experience that directly benefits a local farmer family.
We recommend you round it off with a lovely home-cooked lunch (pilau or spice rice Zanzibar’s traditional festive dish, curried vegetables in creamed turmeric, katchumbari salad and bean falafel with coconut chutney).
This tour can be perfectly combined with our pilau cooking or spice blending workshop (see below).
